Description
Black Market AdreNOlyn Nootropic
The focus-led entry in the AdreNOlyn range. 300mg of caffeine alongside a cognitive blend of L-tyrosine, alpha-GPC, lion's mane, dendrobium and eria jarensis, plus 3.5g of beta-alanine.
Worth being clear about what this is: it is a stimulant pre-workout with a nootropic emphasis, not a nootropic supplement. The cognitive blend totals around 2.6g against 300mg of caffeine and 3.5g of beta-alanine.

Fully disclosed, no proprietary blends — the grouped headings are organisational, and every individual dose is listed. That is genuinely to Black Market's credit.
Two numbers that are smaller than they look
Full disclosure lets you check the arithmetic, so here it is.
Alpha-GPC 50%, 600mg. The "50%" is the standardisation — 600mg of a 50% material yields about 300mg of actual alpha-GPC. That is still a working dose and it is how alpha-GPC is normally supplied, but it is half what the headline suggests.
Sodium bicarbonate, 500mg. Sodium bicarbonate is a genuine performance ingredient — it buffers acidity in the blood, complementing what beta-alanine does inside the muscle. But the researched dose is roughly 0.2 to 0.3g per kilogram of bodyweight, which for an 80kg person is around 16 to 24 grams. At 500mg, this is a fraction of one percent of a working dose.
It is not doing anything meaningful for performance. We would rather say so than let it pad the pump total.
3g citrulline is modest — here is the honest comparison
The marketing describes a "high powered pump." 3 grams of citrulline sits below the 6 to 8 gram range where the research consistently shows pump and endurance benefits.
It is not nothing, but it is half what Thavage and GHOST Pump deliver. If pumps are your priority, this is not the product in this range to choose — Black Market's own Cuts Pump or a dedicated pump product will serve you better.
Buy this one for the focus, which is where it is actually built.
The cognitive ingredients, assessed
- L-Tyrosine, 1,000mg — precursor to dopamine and noradrenaline. The research centres on maintaining cognitive performance under stress and sleep deprivation, which is a sensible pairing here
- Alpha-GPC, ~300mg actual — supplies choline for acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter behind both attention and muscle contraction
- Lion's Mane, 500mg — a genuine nootropic mushroom studied in relation to nerve growth factor. Honest note: this is mushroom powder rather than a concentrated extract, and studied doses are typically higher. Reasonable inclusion, modest amount
- Dendrobium, 300mg at 10:1 — an orchid extract used as a stimulant. Worth knowing that dendrobium has a chequered history in supplements, having previously been used as a cover for synthetic stimulants. Black Market disclose it openly, which is the right approach
- Eria jarensis (N-phenethyl-dimethylamine), 125mg — a stimulant with reported mood and euphoria effects. It is on WADA's monitoring radar and is not appropriate for tested athletes, the same caution as on our AdreNOlyn Underground page
- Velvet Bean, 70mg at 98% L-DOPA — a direct dopamine precursor. ⚠ L-DOPA can interact with MAOIs and other psychiatric medications. If you take antidepressants or any psychiatric medication, speak to your doctor before using this
3.5g beta-alanine — expect the tingles
That is 300mg above the standard 3.2g dose, and you will feel it.
Beta-alanine raises muscle carnosine over two to four weeks of consistent use, buffering the acidity that limits hard sets. The tingling is paraesthesia — harmless, fading within about half an hour, and lessening as you get used to the product.
It is not a sign the product is working. The benefit accumulates quietly over weeks; the sensation is a side effect. A lot of people judge a pre-workout by that feeling and it is the wrong signal.
⚠ Cautions
- Not for tested athletes — eria jarensis
- Speak to your doctor if you take psychiatric medication — the velvet bean supplies L-DOPA
- Not for anyone with a cardiovascular condition or high blood pressure. Caffeine, eria jarensis and dendrobium are three stimulant mechanisms together
- Do not exceed one scoop in 24 hours, and take no other caffeine that day
- Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing
How to take it
- Start with half a scoop in 10 to 12oz of cold water to assess tolerance.
- One scoop, 15 to 45 minutes before training. Never more than one in 24 hours.
- Morning or early afternoon. 300mg at 5pm still leaves around 150mg at 11pm.
- It also works on non-training days for cognitive focus, which is unusual for a pre-workout and a fair use given the formula.
- Add a pump product if pumps matter — 3g citrulline leaves room. GHOST Pump is stim-free and stacks cleanly.
Which AdreNOlyn?
| Nootropic | 300mg caffeine | Focus-led. Lion's mane, alpha-GPC, tyrosine |
| Underground | High stim | Hardest hitting. Naringenin, undisclosed pump blend |
| Cuts | 300mg caffeine | Fat loss oriented |
Who this is for
- Anyone who wants mental sharpness from a pre-workout rather than just physical energy
- People training after a long working day, where focus is the limiting factor
- Anyone who wants a fully disclosed label they can check
- Experienced stimulant users comfortable at 300mg
- People who train alone and need to generate their own intensity
Who this is not for
Tested athletes. Eria jarensis.
Anyone whose priority is pumps. 3g citrulline is modest — choose differently or stack a pump product.
Beginners at a full scoop, and anyone caffeine sensitive.
Anyone on psychiatric medication, without speaking to a doctor first.
Anyone who dislikes the beta-alanine tingle — 3.5g is above standard.
If you want genuine nootropic benefit without stimulants, this is not that product. A standalone lion's mane or alpha-GPC would serve you better, and C4 Smart Energy pairs caffeine with citicoline at a lower dose.
Stack it with: creatine, and a stim-free pump product if you want more from the pump side.
Frequently asked questions
How much caffeine is in AdreNOlyn Nootropic?
300mg on most retail listings, though Black Market's own site states 350mg. Check your tub.
Is it actually a nootropic?
It is a stimulant pre-workout with a nootropic emphasis. The cognitive blend totals around 2.6g alongside 300mg caffeine and 3.5g beta-alanine.
How much alpha-GPC does it really contain?
600mg of a 50% standardised material, which yields roughly 300mg of actual alpha-GPC.
What does the sodium bicarbonate do?
At 500mg, very little. Sodium bicarbonate is a real buffering agent, but the researched dose is roughly 0.2 to 0.3g per kg of bodyweight — around 16 to 24g for most people.
Is 3g of citrulline enough for pumps?
It is below the 6 to 8g researched range. If pumps are your priority, choose a product with more or stack a dedicated pump formula.
Can I take it if I am drug tested?
No. Eria jarensis makes this unsuitable for tested athletes.
Why does it make me tingle?
3.5g of beta-alanine — slightly above the standard 3.2g. The sensation is paraesthesia, it is harmless, and it is not an indicator that the product is working.
Can I use it on rest days?
Yes, for cognitive focus. That is a fair use given the formula, though the caffeine still counts toward your daily total.

I got the peach ring flavor and I really liked it. Gave me a good workout as well and I didn't have any gitters or any negative effects.
