Description
InnovaPharm Cut & Dry
Cut & Dry is a topical gel built around Beta-Androstenetriol, a naturally occurring 7-hydroxy metabolite of DHEA. It is applied to the skin rather than taken orally.
This is a hormonal product and it should be approached as one, not as a fat burner with an unusual delivery method.
What it is, plainly
DHEA is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands and a precursor to both testosterone and estrogen. Your body metabolises it down several pathways, one of which produces 7-hydroxy metabolites — including beta-androstenetriol.
These metabolites are studied in relation to the body's cortisol pathways, since cortisol and DHEA metabolism share enzymatic machinery in the adrenal glands.
Why a gel? InnovaPharm's own explanation is that the active is not meaningfully bioavailable when swallowed. Transdermal delivery bypasses first-pass liver metabolism, which is the same reasoning behind prescription hormone gels and patches.
That is a real pharmacological rationale. It also means you are applying a steroid metabolite to your skin, which is a meaningfully different decision from taking a capsule of caffeine.
The honest position on evidence
We would rather be straight with you than sell this on enthusiasm.
Beta-androstenetriol is an obscure compound. Most of the published research on it concerns immune function and cellular protection, largely in animal models. There is very little human research on transdermal beta-androstenetriol for body composition, cortisol, or physique outcomes.
That does not mean it does nothing. It means the marketing claims run considerably ahead of the published evidence, and anyone buying this should know they are early on a compound rather than using something established.
If you want the well-evidenced route to a leaner, drier look, it is a sustained caloric deficit, adequate protein, resistance training and managed sodium. Nothing on our shelf beats that, and we will tell you so in the store.
⚠ Not for tested athletes
DHEA and its metabolites are prohibited under WADA category S1 — Anabolic Agents.
Beta-androstenetriol is a DHEA metabolite. If you compete in a tested federation, are a collegiate athlete, or are subject to military or workplace testing, do not use this product.
Ask us and we will point you to certified alternatives.
⚠ Other cautions
This is a hormone metabolite. Treat it with the seriousness that implies:
- Speak to your doctor before use, particularly if you take any prescription medication or have any hormonal, cardiovascular or liver condition
- Not for anyone under 18, pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive
- Wash your hands thoroughly after applying, and let the application site dry fully before it contacts anyone else. Transdermal hormone products can transfer by skin contact — this is a well-documented issue with prescription hormone gels, and it matters particularly around children and partners
- Rotate application sites and watch for skin irritation
- Discontinue and see a doctor if you notice unusual symptoms
The manufacturer states it is suitable for both men and women. We would say that any product influencing hormone metabolism warrants a doctor's input first, regardless of sex.
Come and talk to us
This is a product we would rather discuss in person than sell through a cart. Not because we are precious about it, but because the useful questions cannot be asked by a webpage: what you have run before, what you are actually trying to achieve, whether your diet is where it needs to be, and whether something simpler would get you there faster.
Our staff earn no commission. Nobody here makes more by selling you a hormonal gel than a tub of protein, and we will say honestly if we think your money is better spent elsewhere.
How it is used
- Applied topically to clean, dry skin as directed on the label
- Wash hands thoroughly afterwards
- Allow the site to dry completely before dressing or contacting others
- Follow the label for dosing and cycle length. Do not exceed it
Who this is not for
- Any tested athlete, under any circumstances
- Anyone under 18, pregnant, nursing or trying to conceive
- Anyone with a hormonal, cardiovascular or liver condition
- Anyone on prescription medication, without medical advice
- Anyone who has not exhausted the basics. If diet, sleep, training consistency and protein intake are not already in order, this is a long way down the list and it will not compensate
- Anyone expecting a well-evidenced product. This compound is not that
Frequently asked questions
What is Beta-Androstenetriol?
A naturally occurring 7-hydroxy metabolite of DHEA, the adrenal hormone that acts as a precursor to testosterone and estrogen.
Why is it a gel rather than a capsule?
InnovaPharm state the active is not meaningfully bioavailable orally. Transdermal delivery bypasses first-pass liver metabolism, the same reasoning behind prescription hormone gels.
Can I use it if I am drug tested?
No. DHEA and its metabolites are prohibited under WADA category S1, Anabolic Agents.
Is there good research behind it?
Limited. Most published work on beta-androstenetriol concerns immune function in animal models. Human research on transdermal use for body composition is very sparse, and the marketing runs ahead of the evidence.
Can it transfer to other people?
Transdermal hormone products can transfer by skin contact — a documented issue with prescription hormone gels. Wash your hands thoroughly and let the site dry fully, particularly around children and partners.
Can women use it?
The manufacturer says yes. Our view is that any product influencing hormone metabolism warrants speaking to a doctor first, regardless of sex.
What actually produces a leaner, drier look?
A sustained caloric deficit, adequate protein, resistance training and managed sodium. That is the honest answer and it is what we will tell you at the counter.
