Description
Rule One Lean 5
Lean 5 is a stimulant-free fat loss support product with five ingredients and nothing hidden. No caffeine, no yohimbine, no proprietary blend.
It is the gentlest thing in this category on our shelf, which is exactly what makes it a reasonable starting point — and we want to be straight with you about what it will and will not do.
The five ingredients
| CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) | 750mg |
| Garcinia cambogia extract | 750mg |
| L-Carnitine L-Tartrate | 750mg |
| Raspberry ketones | 250mg |
| Decaffeinated green tea extract | 100mg |
| Stimulants | None |
| Servings | 60 |
Five ingredients, all disclosed at their individual doses. That transparency is worth something in a category full of blends.
Where the evidence actually stands
Most pages selling this will tell you each ingredient burns fat. We are going to be more useful than that, because you deserve to know what you are buying.
- L-Carnitine L-Tartrate — carnitine is genuinely required to transport fatty acids into the mitochondria to be burned. Being required is not the same as being limiting, though: in people eating meat, carnitine levels are usually already adequate, and the research on supplementing more is mixed with modest effect sizes. The best-supported use here
- CLA — studied for body composition over months rather than weeks. Human results are inconsistent and the effects, where found, are small
- Decaffeinated green tea extract — the thermogenic research on green tea centres on EGCG, and uses doses considerably higher than 100mg. This is a modest inclusion
- Garcinia cambogia — widely used and poorly supported. Systematic reviews have generally not found a meaningful effect on weight in humans
- Raspberry ketones — the mechanism comes from cell and rodent studies at doses far beyond what oral supplementation achieves in a person. Human evidence is essentially absent
What that adds up to: this is a mild support product, not a driver. The caloric deficit does the work. Nothing in this bottle creates one, and no fat burner does — the stimulant ones mostly work by blunting appetite and making you feel like something is happening.
We would rather you hear that from us than find it out after a tub.
So why do we stock it, and why does it suit beginners?
Because "does not do much on its own" is not the same as "pointless," and because the alternative is often worse.
Someone new to fat loss frequently walks in and asks for the strongest thing available. That is usually a 300mg-plus stimulant product, and for a beginner that often means anxiety, poor sleep, an afternoon crash, and quitting within two weeks — having learned nothing about the deficit that was actually going to work.
Lean 5 is the version of this category that cannot do that to you. No stimulants means no crash, no sleep disruption, no tolerance, and no interaction with the coffee you already drink. It is something to take while you build the habits that matter, rather than something that substitutes for them.
That is what your first fat loss product should be. Your note calls it introductory, and that is precisely right.
One safety note
Garcinia cambogia has case reports of liver injury associated with it. Rare, and not established as causal, but documented enough that it is worth knowing. If you have any liver condition, take prescription medication, or notice unusual fatigue, dark urine or yellowing of the skin or eyes, stop and see a doctor.
Green tea extract also carries occasional liver-related reports at high doses. The 100mg here is low, but if you are also taking a greens powder, a multivitamin and a separate fat burner, add up your total green tea extract.
How to take it
- One scoop in 8 to 10 ounces of cold water, twice daily, on an empty stomach.
- Do not exceed two servings a day.
- Any time, including evening. Stim-free means no sleep cost, which is the main practical advantage.
- Only while in a deficit. Outside one, there is nothing for it to support.
- Give it weeks. Nothing here is acute and you will not feel it working. That is not a fault.
Who this is for
- Anyone buying their first fat loss product who wants something that cannot backfire
- People who are caffeine sensitive, or already at their limit from coffee and pre-workout
- Anyone who trains in the evening
- People who want a disclosed five-ingredient label rather than a blend
- Anyone who has had a bad experience with a stimulant fat burner
Who this is not for
If you are not in a caloric deficit, do not buy this. Buy nothing in this category. Get the diet in order first and we will help you with that for free.
If you want to feel something, you will not. There are no stimulants and the effect is not perceptible.
If you want the best-evidenced options in this category, they are simpler and cheaper: caffeine, protein and fibre for satiety, and a deficit you can sustain. We will tell you that at the counter and we would rather you spent your money there.
If you have any liver condition, see the garcinia note above.
Stack it with: honestly, a protein powder and a food scale will do more. If you want a second product, a protein that keeps you full is the better purchase.
Frequently asked questions
Does Lean 5 have caffeine?
No. It is completely stimulant free, including decaffeinated green tea extract, so it can be taken in the evening and alongside a pre-workout.
Will it make me lose weight?
Not on its own. Fat loss comes from a caloric deficit. This is a mild support product for someone already in one, and the honest evidence for several of its ingredients is limited.
Why is it good for beginners then?
Because the usual first purchase is a high-stimulant product that causes anxiety, poor sleep and a crash, and gets abandoned within a fortnight. This one cannot do that. It is something to take while you build the habits that actually work.
What is in it?
750mg each of CLA, garcinia cambogia and L-carnitine L-tartrate, 250mg raspberry ketones and 100mg decaffeinated green tea extract. All individually disclosed.
When should I take it?
Twice daily on an empty stomach, in 8 to 10 ounces of cold water. Timing is flexible since there are no stimulants.
Is garcinia cambogia safe?
It is widely used, and there are documented case reports of liver injury associated with it — rare, and not established as causal. If you have a liver condition or take prescription medication, speak to your doctor first.
Can I take it with a pre-workout?
Yes. No stimulants means no doubling up.
What actually works for fat loss?
A caloric deficit you can sustain, enough protein to hold onto muscle, and resistance training. Everything in this category supports that at the margins. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling harder than they should.
