Description
InnovaPharm Genesis-1
A patented chicken embryo peptide concentrate at a 300mg daily dose, supplied as a four-week cycle (56 capsules). Non-hormonal and legal for sport.
This is an unusual product and it makes large claims. We would rather explain the science honestly than repeat the marketing, so this page includes what we do not know as well as what we do.
What it actually is
Genesis-1 is built around an oligopeptide fraction derived from chicken embryo — a patented ingredient with published human research behind it, which is more than most novel ingredients can claim.
The rationale is genuinely interesting. A developing embryo is the most concentrated source of growth and differentiation signalling in biology — it is tissue in the process of building itself. The idea is that a peptide fraction extracted from that environment carries signalling molecules with regenerative properties.
The marketing lists an impressive set: IGF-1 and IGF-2, fibroblast growth factors, nerve growth factor, epidermal growth factor, connective tissue growth factors, transforming growth factors, follistatin and thymosin beta-4.
⚠ The honest problem: oral peptides get digested
This is the part you need before deciding, and almost no page selling this product will tell you.
Growth factors are proteins. Peptides are chains of amino acids. Your digestive system exists to break those apart.
Stomach acid denatures them and intestinal enzymes cleave them into individual amino acids and very short fragments. That is not a flaw in the product — it is what digestion does to everything protein-based you eat.
Which is precisely why the peptides these growth factors are compared with — IGF-1, thymosin beta-4, follistatin — are administered by injection in every clinical and research context. They are not given orally because oral administration does not deliver them intact.
So what could an oral peptide product do? There are legitimate possibilities: some small peptides do survive digestion and are absorbed via the PepT1 transporter (the mechanism explained on our Growth Peptides page), and short bioactive peptide fragments can have signalling effects of their own. But that is a different and much more modest claim than delivering intact IGF-1.
Our position: the ingredient is patented and has human research attached, which we credit. But do not buy this expecting the effects of injectable growth factors, and treat any page implying otherwise with scepticism. Anyone selling you intact oral IGF-1 is describing something digestion does not permit.
⚠ Tested athletes: check before you use it
Genesis-1 is marketed as a legal sports supplement, and as an oral food-derived peptide concentrate that is a reasonable position.
But several of the growth factors named on the label are prohibited substances when administered as drugs. Thymosin beta-4, IGF-1 and follistatin-based agents all appear in WADA's prohibited list under peptide hormones and growth factors.
If you are tested in any capacity, do not rely on our reading or the brand's. Check with your federation directly, or simply avoid it. The risk is not worth a supplement with uncertain benefit.
What it is actually used for
Setting the mechanism debate aside, here is who buys it and why:
- Recovery from heavy training blocks — the primary use, and the one the brand emphasises
- Post-cycle recovery after suppressive compounds. Several users pair it with a proper protocol rather than instead of one
- Adrenal and cortisol support, where the brand's claims are more modest and more plausible
- Hormonal support — InnovaPharm state it supports optimal DHEA, testosterone and androstenedione levels rather than raising them, which is a carefully worded and appropriately limited claim
- Older athletes interested in recovery capacity
Specs
| Embryonic peptide | 300mg daily |

The four-week cycle format is worth noting. The bottle is sized as a course rather than an ongoing supplement, which is how the brand intends it to be used.
Where we would spend the money instead, for most people
Our staff earn no commission, so here is the straight version.
If your goal is recovery, the things with the deepest evidence are considerably cheaper: sleep, adequate protein, creatine, managing training volume, and ashwagandha if stress is the limiting factor.
Genesis-1 makes sense if you already have all of that in place, you are curious about the category, and the price is not a stretch. It does not make sense as a first purchase, or as a substitute for the fundamentals.
How to take it
- Follow the label — 300mg daily across the four-week cycle.
- On an empty stomach is the more sensible approach for any peptide product, minimising exposure to digestive enzymes released with a meal.
- Complete the cycle rather than stopping early — it is dosed as a course.
- Alongside the fundamentals, not instead of them.
- Not as post-cycle therapy on its own. If you need PCT after a suppressive cycle, that requires proper guidance.
Who this is for
- Experienced athletes with training, sleep and nutrition already dialled in
- Anyone in a very heavy block wanting additional recovery support
- People recovering after suppressive compounds, alongside a proper protocol
- Older athletes interested in recovery capacity
- Anyone who is not subject to drug testing
Who this is not for
Tested athletes, without checking with your federation directly. Several named growth factors are prohibited as drugs.
Anyone expecting the effects of injectable peptides. Oral administration does not deliver intact growth factors.
Anyone on a limited budget. Sleep, protein and creatine deliver far more per pound, with vastly more evidence.
Vegetarians and vegans — it is derived from chicken embryo.
Anyone using it as post-cycle therapy on its own.
Anyone with a hormone-sensitive condition, or on medication, without speaking to a doctor.
Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing.
Come and talk to us before buying this one. It is expensive and unusual, and for most people asking about it there is a better answer.
Frequently asked questions
What is Genesis-1?
A patented oligopeptide concentrate derived from chicken embryo, dosed at 300mg daily as a four-week cycle.
Does it really contain IGF-1 and other growth factors?
The source material contains them, but growth factors are proteins and oral administration means they are broken down by stomach acid and intestinal enzymes. The peptides they are compared with are given by injection in every clinical context, precisely for that reason.
So does it do anything?
Possibly. Some small peptides survive digestion and are absorbed intact, and short bioactive fragments can have signalling effects — but that is a much more modest claim than delivering intact growth factors.
Can tested athletes use it?
Check with your federation directly. Several of the growth factors named appear on WADA's prohibited list when administered as drugs, and the risk is not worth taking on our reading alone.
Is it hormonal?
No. InnovaPharm state it supports optimal DHEA, testosterone and androstenedione levels rather than raising them — a carefully limited claim.
Should I take it on an empty stomach?
That is the more sensible approach for any peptide product, minimising exposure to digestive enzymes released with a meal.
Can I use it as PCT?
Not on its own. Recovery after a suppressive cycle requires proper guidance rather than a supplement.
Is it worth the price?
Only if sleep, protein, training and creatine are already in order. It is not a first purchase.
Innova Pharm Genesis 1
Not finished my first bottle yet but I am seeing better recovery , better sleep , little more definition and love all the science backing this product.
I can definitely see some improvements in the fat loss area...nothing dramatic but noticeable in the mirror also loss 4-5 pounds and tighten up in a few areas I can definitely see myself buying another bottle soon
Genesis is a difficult product to review, with it tending to get better the longer you use it. This time around i am using it in addition to some ananolics while I am on-cycle. While using it, I just feel better. Libido has seemed to stick around more than it had previous cycles. Workout performance is good, and recovery not as painful. Will continue adding genesis to my daily routine throughout my cycle and during pct. Excited to see the results a year from now.
