Description
Project AD Fiber+
A blend of soluble and insoluble fibre from psyllium husk, Fibersol-2 and green banana powder, with a 700mg twelve-strain probiotic alongside it.
Fibre is the least glamorous thing you can buy and one of the few where most people have a genuine, measurable shortfall.
Soluble and insoluble fibre do completely different jobs
This is the distinction worth understanding, because a product containing both is doing two separate things.
Soluble fibre dissolves in water and forms a gel. That gel slows gastric emptying, which increases fullness and slows the absorption of sugars from a meal. It is also fermented by gut bacteria in the colon, producing short-chain fatty acids that feed the cells lining your intestine.
Insoluble fibre does not dissolve. It adds bulk and holds water, which is what moves material through the digestive tract. This is the one associated with regularity.
Most single-source fibre supplements give you one or the other. Fiber+ supplies both:
- Psyllium husk — predominantly soluble, and unusual in that it forms a particularly viscous gel. It is the most-studied fibre supplement in existence
- Fibersol-2 — a resistant maltodextrin, soluble but non-viscous, so it adds fibre without thickening the drink. This is why the product mixes well rather than turning to sludge
- Green banana powder — rich in resistant starch, which behaves like fibre because it resists digestion in the small intestine and ferments in the colon
Green banana is the interesting inclusion. Resistant starch is a prebiotic that preferentially feeds bacteria producing butyrate, the short-chain fatty acid that is the primary fuel for colon cells.
The probiotic pairing makes sense
700mg of a twelve-strain probiotic blend sits alongside the fibre, and combining them is more coherent than it might appear.
Probiotics add bacteria. Fibre feeds them. Introducing new strains into a gut with little fermentable fibre gives them nothing to live on. Supplying both together is the more durable approach.
For more on how probiotics work and why viability matters, see our probiotic page.
⚠ Timing around medication matters
Psyllium and other viscous fibres can reduce the absorption of medications taken at the same time. The gel that makes psyllium effective can also trap drugs, delaying or reducing how much gets absorbed.
Take any medication at least an hour before, or two to four hours after, your fibre. This applies to prescription drugs generally and is worth checking with your pharmacist for anything you take daily.
The same caution applies to a multivitamin or mineral supplement — space them apart rather than taking them together.
⚠ Water is not optional
This is the single most important instruction with any psyllium product.
Psyllium absorbs many times its weight in water. Taken without enough fluid it can form a mass that is uncomfortable at best and, rarely, causes obstruction. Every psyllium product carries this warning and it is not boilerplate.
Mix it with a full glass, drink it promptly before it thickens, and drink more water afterwards.

How to take it
- One scoop in a full glass of water, and drink it promptly. It thickens as it stands.
- Start with half a scoop for the first week. A sudden fibre increase causes gas and bloating in most people. It settles within a week or two if you ramp up gradually.
- Increase your water intake generally, not just the glass you mix it in.
- Away from medication and multivitamins — see above.
- Any time of day. Consistency matters more than timing.
Who this is for
- Anyone eating a high-protein, low-vegetable diet — extremely common among people training hard, and a reliable route to a fibre shortfall
- People cutting, where reduced food volume means reduced fibre
- Anyone who wants both fibre types plus probiotics without buying three products
- People who dislike thick fibre drinks — the Fibersol-2 keeps it drinkable
Who this is not for
If you have IBS, be cautious. Fermentable fibres are a common trigger, and while psyllium is often better tolerated than others, the resistant starch and probiotic together are a lot to introduce at once. Start very low, or speak to your doctor.
If you have any history of bowel obstruction or a swallowing difficulty, do not take psyllium without medical advice.
If you already take a fibre-forward greens powder — Revive Daily Greens carries inulin, flax and chia — check whether you are doubling up.
If you already take a separate probiotic, note the 12 strains here.
And the honest one: whole food fibre is better and cheaper. Vegetables, beans, oats and fruit bring fibre alongside micronutrients and phytonutrients a powder does not. A fibre supplement fills a gap; it does not replace produce, and we would rather you ate the vegetables.
Stack it with: more water than you think. That is the main thing.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between soluble and insoluble fibre?
Soluble fibre dissolves and forms a gel, slowing digestion and feeding gut bacteria. Insoluble fibre does not dissolve — it adds bulk and holds water, which is what supports regularity. Fiber+ contains both.
Why does it contain probiotics as well?
Probiotics add bacteria and fibre feeds them. Adding strains to a gut with little fermentable fibre gives them nothing to live on, so combining the two is more durable.
Can I take it with my medication?
Space them apart. Psyllium's gel can reduce absorption of drugs taken at the same time — take medication at least an hour before or two to four hours after. Check with your pharmacist for anything you take daily.
How much water do I need?
A full glass to mix it, drunk promptly, and more water through the day. Psyllium absorbs many times its weight in water and taking it with too little is genuinely unsafe.
Will it make me bloated?
Possibly in the first week. Start with half a scoop and build up — a sudden fibre increase causes gas in most people and it usually settles.
What is Fibersol-2?
A resistant maltodextrin — soluble but non-viscous, so it adds fibre without thickening the drink. It is why this mixes better than a psyllium-only product.
What does green banana powder do?
It supplies resistant starch, which resists digestion in the small intestine and ferments in the colon, preferentially feeding bacteria that produce butyrate — the main fuel for colon cells.
Is it suitable for IBS?
Be cautious. Fermentable fibres are a common trigger. Start very low or speak to your doctor first.
Fiber+ helped my digestion within days of taking it. I notice a huge difference with taking this product. Also, the chocolate flavor is amazing. It taste like a fudge pop. Mixes best when you put the powder in the shaker before the water.
